Thank you!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Endless thank you's to all of you who have been so incredibly generous and supportive of Chino & our dream. It is challenging to put into words what each of your contributions and kind words mean to us. I remember getting each and every donation. Each time I was not only filled with joy, hope and excitement for Chino, but also humbled by each one of your generosity's & incredible support. Thank you.
I am ecstatic to say not only did WE REACH OUR GOAL, we ended up actually SURPASSING OUR GOAL generously with a few in person and mail-in donations! The additional funds will be used to help pay for our hired help to finish Chino's space while Eric is recovering!
Having a 200+ lb goat in your backyard = never a dull moment. :) This morning was a lot cooler than it has been in a while and some of the animals seemed to really enjoy it. Maya, one of our dogs, was fired up and barking continuously at Chino to try to get him to play with her at 6am (Eric was not impressed). I was outside with them and Chino just wanted to rub up on me and get snuggles, meanwhile Maya continued her high pitch "I wanna play" bark. So...after I went inside to fix the piggies morning saute, I heard Chino and Maya running around the yard - one side to the other & back again. They were fired up! Minutes later I hear Chino head butting the front screen door (which is glass) most likely trying to get my attention, which worked! I went to the door and debated my options for a few seconds, deciding that going outside to participate in his playful mood was the best one. Well.....pretty soon I am getting head butted into our fence and he is SO excited! (Maya is still barking by the way) I am trying to get Chino to settle down a bit and maybe not head butt me quite as hard as he is and Wham, I'm now half way through the decking and stuck. Before I knew it my leg is hanging down between two planks on the deck. Chino being the excited but sweet goat he is, stopped and looked at me like, what are you doing? He waited for me to right myself up and out of the hole & once I was standing again decide "game on" and tried to continue to play. I was not interested, as you can pry imagine, and scurried inside to gather what just happened. Besides a couple small scrapes and sharing the story with Eric, it just kind of made me chuckle inside.
Well, what do you expect when you have a big goat in the front yard with no goat friends to play with? Its gonna be me! Ha. Totally worth it. ;) .....Though it does remind me how wonderful it will be for him, once he has his goat friend to run around and head butt with.
Again, my sincere gratitude for all your support and kind words. This wouldn't be possible without you. Only a few of you have had the opportunity to meet Chino, but I can't wait until all of you have been able to meet him. :)
