Beni

Beni means “blessed” in French.

Beni was just 4 months young when we brought him home and he had already lived in two prior places. He was born into a backyard farming situation where pigs were left together to continue breeding among themselves until there were more than 30 piglets running around, not being cared for. They were transferred to another backyard farm where they were now separated female and male to end the breeding, but were being sold for meat.

Beni was the blessed one we were able to save.

After taking only a few days to gain our trust, he now adores people. He will run from across his yard or jump up from a nap the minute he hears someone, hoping to get some snuggles and attention. He loves hugs, cuddles, and kisses. During his quarantine time, we learned many tricks. Beni knows how to sit, jump, spin around, twist the other direction, touch where we ask, and when he feels like it, he’ll even do a slight hoof shake. He enjoys talking loudly and often with his repetitive snorts and grunts. If he’s not down on his hillside rooting around in the soil, he’s likely curled up to his best buddy, Squiddy, napping in their hay.
